Nigerian-American actress Adunni Ade reveals that people like to hear her speak her indigenous dialect, Yoruba.

The beautiful actress who has wowed fans with her lovely demeanor and expressive use of Yoruba language in movies, revealed this in a recent interview on Channels Television.

While speaking on Channels TV Morning Brief, Adunni Ade said there is always a yearning for people to hear her speak Yoruba. She stated that she finds it condescending because most people are rude about it. Besides, English is our official language so it doesn't make a huge difference.

Adunni Ade said, "Sometimes I get, 'you don't look like what you sound like. When I hear someone speaking Yoruba, I don't envision someone like you". Regardless, Adunni Ade expressed that she is grateful that her father brought her to Nigeria to learn more about her culture.

Adunni Ade was born in Queens, New York to an Irish-German mother and a Nigerian father. Adunni relocated to Nigeria with her father when she was about a year and a half. She was raised in Lagos, Nigeria where she completed her primary and secondary education before proceeding to the University of Kentucky. Adunni landed her first movie role in Nollywood in 2013 and she has featured in over 200 movie projects ever since. Adunni was born on June 7, 1976. She is 48 years old.
