Recall that Mercy Eke and Pere's love story began a week before the end of the show and with the look of things, it seems the ship has finally sailed.
In a recent interview with Ebuka after the season finale, Mercy Eke was seen discussing her relationship with Pere. Mercy said she knew Pere had eyes for her from the beginning of the show and even asked Ike, her ex, if he still wants to be with her.
She said coming into the house this season, she didn't want to be in a relationship with anyone and she wanted to be on her own. She said Pere won her heart when he revealed to her that he was asked to nominate her many times but he didn't.
Mercy said despite nominating Pere many times, he didn't nominate her in return and that stood out for her. It was at that moment she knew that it was no longer about the game. Instead, he wanted a connection he could take with him from the house.
Afterwards, she decided to give him a chance and get to know him and she hasn't regretted any of her actions.
