Longtime Arsenal fan Piers Morgan compares Arsenal attacker Kai Havertz to Argentina GOAT Diego Maradona after a stellar performance against Burnley in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta's side traveled to Turf Moor to close the gap between Manchester City and Liverpool. In the process, the London team scored five goals against the relegation battling Burnley side.

Martin Odegaard opened the score line with a beautiful shot from outside the box against Vincent Kompany’s team before a Bukayo Saka brace and a Leandro Trossard effort put Arsenal four goals ahead.

Former Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz scored the last goal of the game, which prompted a reaction from controversial Arsenal fan Piers Morgan.

He took to his social media account to praise the attacker, saying, "OMG, Kai Havertz has just pulled a mini-Maradona, sensational goal." Morgan later added, "Great performance, Kai. You’re making a lot of critics, including me, eat our words."

Since Havertz's big move from Chelsea to Arsenal, the attacker has been heavily criticized by the Arsenal fans and has been consistently mocked by Rivals fans due to his poor performances in 2023.

He is currently growing with the squad and getting to replicate his impressive form while he was Bayer Leverkusen.

In addition, Mikel Arteta was pleased with his team performances with the club scoring two goals or more in all their Premier League outings in 2024.

The Spanish manager said in the press conference "We are showing a high efficiency in front of goal at the minute. You see the purpose when we’re playing that we always want to play forwards and be a threat."

"The players up front feel really connected at the moment. That’s a different story because it gives us much more tranquillity to finish the games off."

"We want more and we know how important it is to be up there in the goal difference. Every player that you bring on, whether it is one minute or 30 minutes, the contribution they are willing to give to the team is really positive. Let's keep doing it."

Kai Havertz Stats

The Arsenal player had made 388 appearances scoring 112 goals and creating 51 assists in all club competitions. The midfielder had received 42 yellow cards with zero red card so far in his career.

Out of the 112 goals scored, 46 were for Bayer Leverkusen, 32 for Chelsea, 26 for Bayer Leverkusen U-17, two goals for Bayer Leverkusen U-19 and six goals for Arsenal.

He made his national team debut for Germany on September 8, 2018. He went on to score 14 goals in 42 appearances for the national team.
