PizzaExpress to Enter the U.S. Market in 2025
UK-based pizza brand PizzaExpress has announced plans to debut in the U.S., with its first restaurant set to open in Florida in 2025. Known for its handcrafted pizzas, live music, and distinctive decor, the brand aims to bring a unique dining experience to American consumers.
Celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2025, PizzaExpress operates 360 restaurants in the UK and Ireland and 110 international locations across 12 markets, generating over $500 million in annual revenue. Signature dishes like the Padana and Leggera pizzas highlight its commitment to quality, a tradition established by founder Peter Boizot in 1960s London.
To facilitate its U.S. expansion, PizzaExpress has partnered with Purple Square, led by Vik Patel, a franchise veteran with over 20 years of experience operating 245 locations in the U.S. The Florida restaurants will feature live music venues, spanning 2,500 to 3,800 square feet, combining dining with entertainment to stand out in the competitive U.S. market.
Chief Development Officer Chris Holmes expressed confidence in Purple Square’s ability to deliver the brand’s signature blend of "showtime meets dinnertime," appealing to families, friends, and couples alike. PizzaExpress also plans to expand its global footprint to 1,000 locations by 2030.
