Plateau Police recover 77 stolen cows in the state

Officers of the Plateau State Police Command have recovered 77 stolen cows in the state. They recovered these animals yesterday, Wednesday September 20, 2023. It was the spokesperson for the Plateau Police Command, Alabo Alfred, who revealed this recently in a statement.
The statement was released yesterday, Wednesday. The spokesperson revealed that the cows were stolen from a herdsman in Bauchi State. The thieves who stole the cows moved the animals to Wase Local Government Area in Plateau State. It was here the police were able to recover them. They were able to recover these cows after they received intelligence about the theft. The cows were stolen while they were grazing.
The statement read “On 19/09/2023, we received credible information at the Bashar Police Division that a certain number of cows belonging to one Alhaji Idris Yunusa, the Galadiman Yuli Duguri had been rustled by unknown criminals on 11/9/2023 from Gajin Duguri village, Alkaleri LGA of Bauchi State. According to the intelligence report, the cows were rustled from a herder while grazing and moved towards Odare forest of Kampani Zurak village, Wase Local Government Area".
As soon as they received the information, the police officers then led some policemen to locate these culprits and were able to locate them. The thieves fled into the forest as soon as they saw the policemen coming, leaving the cows behind. They were then able to recover the cows and release them to their owner. The police are still searching for the culprits involved in the crime so as arrest them.
