In a communique disclosed by DSP Alfred Alabo, the Public Relations Officer of the Plateau State Police Command, he said that the abducted Unijos students have been rescued.

The students were abducted from their off-campus hostel on the night of June 13th. They were preparing for the institution's second-semester examination.

Alabo said that five of the victims were rescued, one was able to escape, while one of them is still held captive.

When asked about the seventh victim, he said that the Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, Bartholomew Onyeka, has ordered the Area Commander Metro and the Divisional Police Officer Nasarawa Gwong to deploy their men and ensure the retrieval of the victim.

Alabo commended the efforts of the policemen and their ability to collaborate with the anti-kidnapping unit, the community members, and family members of the abducted victims to ensure the rescue of the students.
