Police arrest 12 cultists during meeting in Edo State.
The Edo State Police Command have arrested 12 suspected cultists in Edo.
They arrested these men during their meeting and this arrest was made over their alleged involvement in cultism and even armed robbery in Edo state.
The spokesperson of the command, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed this news.
He revealed the names of these suspects who were arrested. He listed the names as Ama Success, Joseph Ikehinde, Odion Sunday, Uyi Okogiewe, Famous Prosper, Junior Uwadia, Charles Friday, Uyi Ewansiha, Ibrahim Abdulmalik, Ogbonna Maduabuchi, Elinana Omon and Cyrillic Omonhe.
He revealed that it was the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of the command who apprehended and arrested these men who are suspected to be members of the Eiye Confraternity in Esigie, Benin.
He revealed they were having a meeting and strategists how to attack another cult when the police raided the area and arrested them. He mentioned some were able to escape.
One of these men who were arrested revealed he had joined the cult due to oppression from other rival cult groups. He said some boys as young as he is would stop him and collect his belongings.
He revealed he now regret joining.
