Police arrest 12 kidnap and robbery suspects in Delta
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested 12 suspects for kidnapping and robbery in Delta State.
They arrested 10 people who are suspected kidnappers. The police were able to recover a Toyota Corolla, single barrel pistol and 11 rounds of live cartridges from these kidnappers.
Some officers had been deployed to the Sapele-Warri Road and the environs. This area is known to be popular in the operations of kidnappers and robbers. They had made the arrest after they went to these places.
The squad who went on this operation had received intelligence and acted on it. The commander of the squad , ASP Julius Robinson, had led the operatives.
All the suspects who were arrested confessed to their involvement in kidnapping and robbery operations which had been happening.
DSP Bright Edafe, who is the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this news.
He also revealed that through further investigation, they were able to arrest a man named Umar Bello. This man buys the steel valuables from the other suspects.
They also arrested another suspect named Nworie Emmanuel who belongs to a robbery syndicate. This gang uses tricycles to rob people along the airport road in Warri, Delta State.
