Police arrest 39-year-old man for assaulting an officer in Lagos State
Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 39-year-old man identified as Akinyemi Akintayo for assaulting an officer in December 2023. This was announced to the public on Monday by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Public Relations Officer.
He stated that Akinyemi had been on the run since the incident happened on December 8th, until nemesis caught up with him. Benjamin wrote, "He said, “After weeks on the run, Akinyemi Akintayo aged 39yrs of Ayobo has been arrested and arraigned for his serious assault on police officers on December 8, 2023.”
Images of the assaulted Policeman was shared and his head was seriously injured to the extent that he had stitches on his head with some blood stains. Also, it seems Akinyemi dealt a heavy blow to the police officer because his lips had blood stains on them. These two were seen gripping each other's clothes on the road while onlookers stared. It isn't clear what caused the fight between them, but that will be disclosed since Akinyemi has been arrested.
