Police arrest man who cut off his mother's hand with a machete

The Ogun state Police command have arrested a man who cut off his mother's hand with a machete. This man who is 30 years old has been identified as Ayobami Oyeleye. He is now in the custody of the Ogun Police for performing this crime.

Other than cutting her hands, he also left a deep cut on his mother's head as well. This man had attacked his mother who has been identified as Esther. She is an elderly woman who is 65 years old. This incident occurred on Tuesday, October 2nd 2023. This was in Akibo village, in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The fight commenced from an argument which had led to so much shouting and noise. That night, the neighbors who had heard the noises had to come out of their houses to find out what was happening. When the neighbours got to the house, they discovered the victim was lying in a pool of her own blood. They noticed that her left and right hands had been cut off. They saw that she also had a deep cut on her head.

Her son, Oyeleye was seen standing beside her corpse holding a cutlass. He had used the cutlass to inflict cuts on her head and legs too. They hurriedly rushed the victim to the hospital for medical treatment.

The Ogun state Police Public Relations Officer, who is Omolola Odutola, spoke with newsmen on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2023 was the one who confirmed the incident. He also revealed that an investigation jas commenced into this case.
He stated “The suspect is now in our custody. Our men visited the scene where the cutlass used to carry out the crime was retrieved. Currently, an investigation is ongoing,”
