Police arrest suspect for stealing IBEDC transformer parts in Ogun state
Officers of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a man who stole some transformer parts belonging to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) recently. This man was arrested on Friday September 1st 2023 for theft of some IBEDC transformer parts.
This suspect has been identified as Adewole Adekunle. The police operatives arrested him at the Owode Egba division. The suspect who was arrested is reportedly based in Eleko, Ajah, Lagos State.
He was found in possession of some stolen transformer parts from the Showo Community, Kobape. He stole them from this community which is located along Sagamu-Abeokuta Expressway.
It was the Ogun state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutula who disclosed this in a statement. Some villages had been complaining that some vandals had been stealing cables in the area. The arrest that was made was following the report of these incidents by some residents.
The police had gotten a tip around 4.30am on Friday and it was after this that the policemen responded and made the arrest.
The spokesperson stated “Following this information, the DPO of Owode Egba Police Division in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state, CSP Popoola Olasunkanmi, led his men to swiftly respond to the distress call, leading to the arrest of Adewole Adekunle of No 28, Eleko, Ajah, Lagos.
