Police arrest woman for stabbing a 12 year old girl in Rivers State
A woman has been arrested by the police in Rivers State for stabbing a 12 year old girl. The woman is 30 years old.
This woman has been identified as Abigail and she was arrested yesterday, Saturday.
She had stabbed the little girl and left the knife in her body. The incident had occurred at Rumuodara in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State.
The girl has been identified as Oluebube. She and the suspect live in the same building.
It was the sister of the victim who revealed that the girl hit the woman with water in the compound and this was what led to the problem.
She said the victim, Oluebebe was washing plates outside their apartment and then the woman had stepped out to fetch water.
The little girl entered the corridor with the pot a collided with the woman. The duo fell and the woman had gotten angry and began to beat the 12 year old girl.
The neighbours had begun to beg but the suspect refused to listen. After beating her, she ordered Oluebebe to sweep the water that had spilled.
As the girl was sweeping, this woman came out with a knife and stabbed the girl.
The police was alerted and they came to the scene. They were able to arrest the woman who was trying to escape through the back door.
Grace Iringe-Koko who is the Police Public Relations Officer confirmed that this woman who was arrested would be prosecuted. She also revealed that the doctors had removed the knife from the girls body.
