Police detain 2 over missing 6 year old in Makurdi
The Benue state Police Command has arrested 2 suspects over the missing 6 year old girl in Makurdi.
This happened on Wednesday. The 2 suspects are Terkaa Ikyoyer and Iorlumun Akule.
They brought the duo before a Makurdi Upper Area Court 2A. The case against them was the disappearance of six-year-old girl in the state. The little girl has been identified as Emmanuella Nyam.
Insp. Rachael Mchiave, who is the Police Prosecutor, mentioned that these men are facing a 2 count charge of criminal conspiracy and Advance Fee Fraud.
The state criminal investigation department was the one who received the case on the 13th of March from a Terkimbir Nyam.
Mchiave also mentioned that the first time the case was actually reported was on the 23rd of February 2023. This was at the are command.
It was on the 20th of February that the kittle girl went missing at an event.
They had explained that the young girl wanted to drink water while at the event so he took her across the road and released her to go home.
It was that same day the girl went missing.
One of the men who was arrested claimed that he knew someone who had the ability to locate his daughter.
Akule claimed to know someone who had the “ability” to find out the whereabouts of his daughter.
They had demanded a sum of N48,000 from him and he paid the amount.
He claims they both collected the money but didn't deliver his daughter.
Investigation was carried out and the two suspects were arrested.
The investigation is still ongoing but the case has been adjoined till May 25.
