Police intercept 820 cartons of expired drugs in Kano State
The Kano state police command have intercepted and seized about 820 cartons of fake and expired drugs in the state recently. The intercepted these drugs at Mallam Kato Market located in Fagge Local Government Area in Kano State.
It was the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Police command who is SP Abdullahi Haruna, that revealed this information recently. He shared this yesterday on Saturday August 26.
He revealed that they had recovered these drugs from two warehouses at the market. He mentioned that the drugs include 514 cartons of eemistxmin/emstifer syrup, 219 cartons of 5mg Lisinopril tablets, 7 cartons of 5mg amlodipine tablets, 87 cartons of 50mg atenol and 40 cartons, 3 cartons of Frusemide injection.
He also added that they seized these drugs and then handed them over to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). He also added that it had been a team of detectives who had been deployed to the scene by the state Commissioner of Police, Usaini Gumel who handled it.
He then advised the public to ensure they always report suspicious persons and items to the police so that action can be taken.
