Police raid kidnappers den in Ruvers state, rescue victim
Officers of the Rivers State Police Command have gone on an operation to raid a kidnappers den in Rivers State. They were able to rescue a kidnap victim fron the den and also recovered arms and ammunition.
They had stormed some kidnappers hideouts in the state.
It was Emeka Nwonyi, who is the state Commissioner for Police who revealed this information. This was during a media briefing in Port Harcourt and this held on Friday.
She revealed that they had some help from vigilantes and they had raised through the forest close to China Bridge. This was on Wednesday.
He says they were able to rescue a woman who had been kidnapped.
The woman revealed she was kidnapped on the 26th of June on her way home from her shop.
The incident took place around Salvation Ministry Road, Rumuosi Choba, Port Harcourt.
The state Commissioner further revealed that theybyave reunited the woman to her family.
She also said they are making efforts to locate these kidnappers and arrest them.
She says that the policemen who were assisted by the Army were also able to raid some cult (militant) camps licated in Ahoada East and West councils.
The criminals there ran away as soon as they saw the officers.
They were able to recover one locally-made single-barrelled gun, three pumping engines, nine empty cartridges, 10 sheets of zinc, two motorcycles, one small generator, two sawing engines, charms.
