Policeman and others kidnapped by herdsmen in Benue
A Police officer and two others have been kidnapped by some herdsmen in Benue State. These herdsmen had ambushed these people and abducted them in Anune community in Gwer West Local Government Area.
The incident happened on Tuesday evening. The victims had been returning from a burial ceremony in Naka, Gwer West Local Government. They were on their way back to Makurdi.
Mr Andrew Ayande who is the Gwer West LG Chairman has confirmed the incident. He said the incident happened around 4p.m. that day.
They had gone for a burial and the herdsmen attacked the vehicle that was conveying then and took then away
He said that security personnel are trying to locate them.
He also revealed that these herdsmen are demanding a ransom of N200,000 for the Policeman, N1 million for the woman and N500,000 for one other person.
