Popular Lagos church, Household of David situated in Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja LGA of Lagos State burns to ashes on Wednesday, 31st January 2023 following a fire accident in the church building.
The Lagos State Fire Service revealed that the church's ceiling was compressed with heat which resulted in a fire after it collapsed. The church auditorium was damaged beyond repair including the equipment and chairs.
The Pastor of House of David church, Pastor Olusola Osunmakinde, said the occurrence was a painful one because they were planning a conference that day when it happened. He mentioned that a passer-by mocked them after the incident saying "Where was Jesus when this happened?"
He said they don't owe anyone an answer and he believes that all things work together for good. However, he is grateful that no lives were lost. He said the church will go on with the program as planned, asking the congregation not to be discouraged.
