The Premier League have issued a statement confirming their position amidst reports the VAR could be scrapped next season.
According to The Sun, Premier League Clubs are set to vote on whether to continue the usage of VAR or not from next season.
The decision to return to the ballot to decide the fate of the controversial football technology was reportedly initiated by a complaint by Wolves, as reported by the Athletic.
According to The Athletic, Wolves officially submitted a complaint to the Premier League calling for the technology to be scrapped. And by so doing so, Premier League clubs will be obliged to vote on whether to scrap the technology or not.
The the report adds voting will be done after the season on June 6 with all the 20 Premier League clubs expected to take a stand on the future of the technology in the English top-flight.
