The Premier League matchday 19 clash between Sheffield United and Luton Town was marred with hostilities.
The two sides, who are trapped in the relegation zone, needed a lift with a win to boost their survival chances with the first lap of the league crossed.

Some Sheffield United fans swallowed the pill of defeat with bitterness and were hostile to some Luton Town players.
Luton Town forward Carlton Morris revealed after the match that he was racially abused by Sheffield United fans during the match.
According to him, he 'heard something' among Sheffield United fans at the front row during the match.
''The Premier League have been great at telling us protocols and explaining that to us.,'' aggrieved Morris told Prime Video.
"I heard something from the crowd in the front row unfortunately and I just knew it was best to get that reported straight away and let them deal with that from there," he added.
Carlton Morris also spoke to match officials about the incident during the match.

While the 28-year-old did not disclose what erring Sheffield United fans said, Luton Town confirmed in a club statement that Morris was racially abused during the match.
''We can confirm that Luton Town striker Carlton Morris reported an alleged racist comment from the crowd during this afternoon’s Premier League fixture at Bramall Lane,'' a club statement read.
The club added they will offer Carlton and any other player suffering racial abuse their support and do not tolerate any form of discrimination against any player.

After Morris reported the incident to the match officials, Luton Town have confirmed the Police have began investigations into the incident.

In solidarity with Carlton Morris and Luton Town, the Premier League immediately issued a statement affirming their uncompromising stand against racism.
Racism has no place in our game or anywhere in society and we encourage anyone who hears or sees discrimination to report it so action can be taken.
'We will offer our full support to Carlton Morris and Luton Town FC, as well as continuing to work with clubs and authorities to ensure our stadiums are an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.'
