President Tinubu appoints Hon. Zacch Adedeji as the acting boss of FIRS

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Zacch Adedeji as the acting boss of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS). He appointed Hon. Zacch as the acting chairman for the FIRS recently. This was revealed just yesterday, Thursday September 14, 2023.

Prior to this Hon Zacch Adedeji was the special adviser to President Tinubu on revenue. He was also a former Commissioner of Finance and this was when the late Governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi was in power. He is a graduate of the Prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife.

The information was released in a statement shared by Ajuri Ngelale who is the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity. They shared that the chairman of the FIRS, Muhammad Nami, was given directives to commence his 3 months of pre-retirement leave.

The statement read “The President has directed the erstwhile FIRS Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Nami, to proceed on 3 months of pre-retirement leave, as provisioned by Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243, with immediate effect, leading to his eventual retirement from service on December 8, 2023. Hon. Zacch Adedeji is hereby appointed in acting capacity for a 90-day period before his subsequent confirmation as the substantive Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service for a term of four years in the first instance.”

They revealed that this new appointment is to take effect immediately. The new appointee is from Iwo-Ate area in Ogo-Oluwa local government of Oyo state.
