The president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu and the King of England, King Charles III, met in Dubai recently. President Tinubu and King Charles III held a meeting together in Dubai early this morning, Thursday, November 30 2023. This was during the COP28 Climate Summit which was held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

President Tinubu revealed this in a post on X (Twitter). He disclosed that they had a productive meeting. President Tinubu is the current president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He came into office in May 2023 after winning the February presidential elections. He is serving under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In his post on Twitter, Tinubu revealed that the meeting was a key step in strengthening the partnership between both countries (Nigeria and the UK). He revealed how hopeful he is about the impact this partnership will have.
In his words "I had a productive meeting with His Majesty, King Charles III of England who is also the Head of the Commonwealth, and a passionate climate advocate.
The meeting was a significant step in strengthening the partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, and I am optimistic about the positive impact our joint efforts will have on our planet’s future as we look forward to setting an equitable global standard for environmental stewardship at #COP28"
