President Tinubu set to travel to Guinea-Bissau to attend ECOWAS summit
The President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to travel to Guinea-Bissau today to attend the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) summit. He will be leaving Abuja today, July 8 for this summit
This is the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the ECOWAS.
It was Dele Alake who is the Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communications and Strategy, who revealed this yesterday. He revealed this in a Statement which they released.
The summit will be coming up tomorrow, Sunday, July 9.
This summit is to touch issues of memoranda on urgent sub-regional issues including Report of the 50th Ordinary Session of the Mediation and Security Council (MSC) which addresses security challenges faced by the member countries of the body, it will also address issues like the Report of the 90th Ordinary Session of ECOWAS Council of Ministers which are on the financial situation of ECOWAS and also implementating the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and some other issues.
Some members of the Presidential Policy Advisory Council alongside some other top government officials will accompany the president on this trip.
The President will return to Nigeria once the summit is over.
