The Federal Government has declared that it has no plans to establish a Price Control Board to curtail the current food crisis in the country.

Following Pres. Tinubu's closed-door meeting with state governors and ministers yesterday in Abuja, the president has revealed that he will not be setting up a price Control Board. The president also asserted that he doesn't approve of food importation as a measure to reduce the food crisis.

Pres. Tinubu urged all state governors to drum support for local farmers to boost food production. He addressed the reports about large-scale hoarding of food in some warehouses in the country. He demanded that the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director-General of the DSS inspect these warehouses with immediate effect and with the support of security agencies.

To tackle insecurity across the country, Tinubu proposed that the governors establish a committee to critically assess all the issues raised, including the possibility of establishing state police. Tinubu urged the governors to prioritize the welfare of the people and also work together to combat insecurity and the persistent food crisis.
