The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) recently announced the appointment of Olalekan Ogunleye as the new Executive Vice President for the upstream, downstream, and gas sectors.
Previously, he held the position of Deputy Managing Director of Nigeria LNG Limited.
Olalekan Ogunleye Academic life
He is an alumnus of the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where he obtained his bachelor of law. After which, he went further to obtain his Bar qualification in 1991 after completing his law session at the Nigerian Law School in Lagos that same year.However, he also added some certifications from some reputable national and international instructions, which he didn't give in detail.
Olalekan is an active member of some professional organizations such as the International Bar Association, the Nigerian Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.
He has previously served as the Legal Adviser and Deputy Secretary-General of the Nigerian Gas Association.
Olalekan Ogunleye's Career life
In his 30-year career, Olalekan Ogunleye has held top management roles with his parent company, the NNPC, primarily within the gas sector, where he has gained expertise across different sectors.Before he joined the NLNG in April 2022, he was the MD/CEO of Gas Aggregation Company Nigeria Limited (GACN). This company was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria and was responsible for ensuring that there was adequate gas supply to the domestic market, as it also implemented the Nigerian Gas Master Plan.
