Barcelona are back again in LaLiga title race with a deserved 4-0 victory over Getafe in matchday 26 clash.

In what could be a fairytale LaLiga comeback, the Catalans struck four times with different goalscorers to go second on the LaLiga table, five points behind Real Madrid, who have a game in hand against Sevilla.

They are also a point above Girona in third-place who will hope to reclaim their second spot when they take on Rayo Vallecano.

Barcelona put up a masterclass against Getafe, no thanks to a rickety Getafe defense which fell an easy prey to Barcelona's frontliners due to their unguarded high lines.

Two of the four goals were conceded due Getafe's gaping holes in their high lines as they tried to match Barcelona's offensives with an equal attacking flair.

Raphinha opened the scoring for the home side in the 20th minute, stealing his way through the high line and rounding David Soria to score.

Despite taking the lead, the Catalans were still on top of proceedings going forward but were bent as well by Getafe's dogged attack and refusal to settle for low blocks.

At the interval, the hosts maintained the lead as Getafe's advances failed to yield result.

Getafe improved their game in the second half and nearly found an equaliser when Milla hit the post. The near-miss happened to be their best chance of the game but it was followed with a nightmare.

Barcelona struck twice in eight minutes after the miss by the opponents to extend the lead to 3-0 in a flash. From trying to restore comeback hopes, the Madrid-based outfit went down by the outrageous goal margin.

Joao Felix and Frenkie de Jong scored the second and third goal respectively as Barcelona put the game beyond the visitors.

The rout wasn't over yet. In the 91st minute, Barcelona stole their way through Getafe's high line again to find Fermin Lopez, who slotted home the fourth and final goal from close range to make it 4-0.

It was a deserved victory for the hosts who snatched all three points to rekindle their LaLiga title hopes. The victory has seen the team go second on the LaLiga table with 57 points, 5 points behind Real Madrid, who have a game in hand.
