Raul Jimenez has passed his Fulham medical and he is edging closer to joining the Cottagers from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a deal worth £5.5 million.
Jiminez left Wolverhampton Wanderers training camp in Portugal on the 24th of July, 2023 in order to undergo the medical with Fulham.
The 32-year-old will come in as a replacement for Aleksander Mitrovic, who is set to depart Craven Cottage for Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.
Raul Jimenez was an important player in Wolves set-up but he lost his place in the side following the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo and a horrific head injury which he picked up in November 2020.
He returned to football eight months later in a friendly for Wolverhampton Wanderers during the summer of 2021.
Following his return to action, Jiminez has seemingly lost a yard or two as he has managed to score just nine goals across all competitions.
The Mexican made only 20 appearances last season, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist across all competitions.
Raul Jimenez joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from Benfica on the 13th of August, 2015 for a fee of €22 million.
With the imminent departure of Aleksander Mitrovic dawning them in the face, Fulham have gone into the market to sort their attacking issues.
However, it's left to be seen if Jiminez can produce the magic which he eschewed prior to the horrific injury he sustained.
According to Sky Sports, the 32-year-old is set to be announced as Fulham's latest addition this summer, within the next 24 hours.
The Cottagers are yet to make any significant signing this summer and the arrival of Raul Jimenez might just signal the commencement of business.
Meanwhile, Brazilian defender Igor Julio is reportedly finalizing medical tests as a new Brighton and Hove Albion player.
Igor will pen a four-year deal with the Seagulls, meaning he will remain at the Amex Stadium until the summer of 2027.
The 25-year-old will be joining Brighton from Fiorentina for a fee of €17 million plus €3 million in add-ons and a sell-on clause has been inserted in his deal.
He made 42 appearances for the Italian side last term, scoring no goal and providing no assist.
However, the former RB Salzburg defender helped The Purple Ones get to the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League, albeit losing to West Ham United by 2-1.
They also made it to the final of the Coppa Italia but they were narrowly defeated in like manner by Inter Milan.
Igor Julio also assisted Fiorentina to an 8th place finish in the Serie A last term and was impressive in defense for the side.
He will be their 8th summer departure, having witnessed the exit of Youssef Maleh, Aleksa Terzic, Szymon Zurkowski, Jacob Rasmussen, Riccardo Saponara, Lorenzo Venuti and Toni Fruk.
While Alessandro Bianco, Gabriele Ferrarini and Eduard Dutu have also departed the club on-loan this summer.
Nordin Amrabat has also been linked to Manchester United and he might become the latest name in Fiorentina's departure list.
