Reactions as Lagos Government demolish Megamound Estate in Ikota
Lagos State Government has issued an order to demolish beautiful buildings at the Megamound Estate in Ikota claiming the houses were built on carnal. They claimed that the buildings were illegally built on waterways and canals along the Gedegede Mobil road.
The residents of the demolished buildings were left confused and in tears after they saw the excavator rip off their homes to rubble. A multi-million naira project just went down the drain for not doing due diligence before erecting their buildings on the places that were meant to be waterways.
People were seen rolling on the floor and crying after their belongings were demolished together with the building. For the past couple of months, Lagos State has recorded an increase in flood rates because some drainage was blocked. Heavy downpour has greatly affected the residents and one way to control the flood rate is to build more drainages.
