Different opinions surfaced the internet after the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said chaos and anarchy would ensue once the Judiciary nullifies his election. Claims flying around reported that Tinubu is not eligible to become President since he did not acquire up to the required number of votes in the Federal Capital Territory, unlike his counterpart, Peter Obi.
According to the constitution, before a candidate will be declared winner of the Presidential election, he must acquire 25% of votes in FCT. As it stands, president Tinubu did not meet the requirement amid other allegations of document forgery.
Nigerians are saying President Tinubu is likely to be impeached and will be unable to go for a re-run since he wasn't eligible to be a Presidential candidate. A staunch Peter Obi supporter, @judeHeavenly said, "As it stands now, except the constitution is amended, Tinubu can not remain in office as the president as 25% of FCT votes is a must for the first round. Secondly, Tinubu can not even go for a rerun cos he is not qualified to contest the election in the first place. Thirdly, Peter Obi clearly has the majority votes of LAWFUL VOTES even so when you consider the rigging of APC & PDP. So, there is no need to waste scarce resources for a rerun. Declare PO the winner and let Nigeria move in the right direction for once."
One other netizen, Babatunde Gbadamosi, advised Nigerians to hit the Gym and be prepared for war. He said Nigerians should ignore any statement urging people to remain calm. "Organise yourselves into defense groups for your streets, villages, towns and cities. Set up 24 hour patrols and carry lethal weapons for self-defence. They will adopt herdsmen's tactics of night raids and agbero tactics of crowd attacks," he stated.

The spokesperson for PDP, Umar Sani also added that the judgement of the Judiciary will determine whether there is an ounce of Justice left in Nigeria. He released a lengthy statement through his PRO, Silas Joseph stating the tight spot Tinubu has found himself. According to him, all facts and evidence presented by APM are against Tinubu, Shettima, APC & INEC as he quotes sections in the constitution that were breached.
The petition dropped by APM claimed the nomination of Shettima as Vice President was an invalid nomination in law. "The core of the case is that as at the time Tinubu nominated his running mate, he himself was no longer a candidate by virtue of the a combine provisions of the Constitution and Electoral Act, 2022 in Section 142 (1) and Section 33 of the Constitution and Electoral Act, respectively," Umar said.
He continues, "APM is simply saying that as at the 14th day of July, 2022 APC had no valid Candidate for President as its Vice Presidential Candidate withdrew 21 days before a replacement was made, instead of within 14 days. You see, this is our law and no court can amend it because of one person. This is a clear case of power coming from God."
