Real Madrid have reportedly begun analyzing the possibility of re-signing Carlos Casemiro and Rafael Varane from Manchester United.

The pair were pivotal to Los Blancos' success for about a decade before they moved to Old Trafford in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

Reports in Spain claim that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti and president Fiorentina Perez have started an “exhaustive analysis” of the situation.

The duo still have some years to offer at the top level and they could come in handy for the White Angels in defense and midfield.

It is believed that Manchester United are also willing to sanction the sale of both players, to be able to strengthen the team for the coming season.

Varane and Carlos Henrique Casemiro were instrumental in the Red Devils winning the Carabao Cup last season alongside ensuring qualification for the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League.

Raphael Varane has been in and out of the Manchester United XI, with reports claiming that he had a rift with manager Erik Ten Hag and was reportedly ostracized from the team.

However, the Frenchman has seemingly gotten his place back in the team, which has seen him make 24 appearances this campaign, scoring 1 goal and providing no assist in all competitions.

Varane joined the Red Devils from Real Madrid on August 14, 2021, for a fee of €40 million.

Cumulatively, he has made 87 appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Carlos Henrique Casemiro has battled through injuries this campaign, but he is a mainstay in Erik Ten Hag's setup.

The Brazilian is still regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in football today, and he has shown his brilliance on many occasions this term.

Casemiro joined Manchester United on August 22, 2022, for a fee of €70 million and he has given his all for the club in the majority of the matches he has played.

The 32-year-old has made 69 appearances since his arrival, scoring 11 goals and providing 8 assists in all competitions.

If both players return to the Santiago Bernabeu, they will be offering their experience and quality to an already star-studded setup.

Real Madrid are also reported to have wrapped up the deal for Kylian Mbappe to join the club at the end of the season, and this indeed implies that the Spanish club are looking to exude dominance throughout Europe in the coming years.

Anyway, Carlos Casemiro and Raphael Varane were both in action on Saturday, February 24, 2024, as Manchester United fell to a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford.

Calvin Bassey got the opener for Fulham in the 65th minute before Harry Maguire equalized one minute before the end of regulation time.

Seven minutes into stoppage time, Alex Iwobi scored the definitive goal of the encounter, with Marco Silva's side returning to Craven Cottage with smiles.

Moreover, Manchester United return to action on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, visiting the City Ground to play Nottingham Forest, in a 5th round FA Cup encounter.
