The Spanish side have witnessed some of their players go in and out of the hospital this season, with the latest being the club's captain, Sergio Ramos.
Ramos, who had just recently returned to the team is facing a time on the side-line again that will make him miss out of the Champions League tie with Liverpool and possibly miss the El-Classico match. With Eden Hazard still on the sideline, after experiencing his eleventh injury woe in his second year at the club, the question still remains, "what is going on with the Madrid's medical team?"
The captain who just clocked 35 on March 30th, returned from the Spanish national team Euro qualifiers with a calf injury. Real Madrid confirmed this in a statement, "Following tests carried out today on our captain Sergio Ramos by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the inner calf of his left leg," He recently recovered from a knee injury, after undergoing a knee surgery that has kept him out of the team.
Without no confirmation of the period, he will be away, it is almost certain that he will be missing the two-legged quarter-final match against Liverpool. The two sides faced each other in the 2018 UEFA Champions League final in Kyiv, where Ramos was responsible for Mohammed Salah's arm dislocation, which left the Egyptians in tears, as he was ushered into the tunnel. Mohammed has since played down any feud between the two players.
Real Madrid will also be without their captain as they face Barcelona in the EL-Classico next Saturday, in a match that will open up the title race in Spain and make it a three-horse race. Sergio Ramos is a blow to his side's title challenge in LaLiga and in the Champions League.
