Rema reveals it's not the need for money that pushed him to make music

Popular Nigerian musician Rema has revealed that he isn't making music because of money. The music star recently disclosed that it's not because of the need for money that he decided to pursue music.
Rema is an award winning Nigerian Afrobeats artist. His full name is Divine Ikubor but he goes by the name Rema. The star has won numerous awards in various award events. His collaboration with Selena Gomez on his song, Calm down also broke quite a number of records.

He recently had an interview with Popular Nigerian filmmaker and content creator, Lorty EO and here he shared that it was money that led him into music.
He revealed that he had already been stable financially before he went into music. Recall he began his career by making freestyles and posting them on social media and it had been from here that his record label discovered him. The artist is a member of Mavin Records owned by record executive Don Jazzy.

Rema also mentioned that if he didn’t make it in the music industry, he would still be hustling and making his money. He said when he began by making freestyle music, he didn't do it for the money and he claims he was good financially back then.

He stated “If music didn’t work, I will still be pushing that p in the corner while hustling, you understand. Even at that point where I was doing freestyles, I didn’t really need to do a freestyle because I needed money. I had money. I was actually good.”
