Residents cry out over Flood in Lugbe Community in Abuja
Residents in the lugbe community in Abuja have cried out for help as water floods their entire area.
Reports reveal that some residents are trapped in their houses due to the flood.
Many people have been displaced from their homes as the water level has risen to a point where they cannot cope.
This is due to the numerous or long hours of rainfall which happened on Friday morning.
The houses in this community have been submerged inside the water. Vehicles cannot even be seen to show how hight the water level is. Some residents are trapped inside the house while some outside since they are unable to enter the premises.
An official of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has revealed that they warned the residents of these areas to move out to save lives. He said its better to move out than been caught inside such a disaster.
They also advised people not to undermine the power of water. He pleaded with them so that they can avoid any deaths that could have been avoided in the first place.
They revealed that they have commenced rescue operations and the 4 people they have rescued are now fine.
