Ruben Loftus-Cheek has signed a new contract with AC Milan as he leaves Chelsea after 19 years, joining the piling list of Chelsea summer exits.
The homegrown Chelsea star will be the sixth Chelsea player leaving the club this summer.
Details of his transfer to AC Milan shows the Englishman will be joining the Serie A giants on a long term deal for a £16m transfer fee and £4m add-ons.
AC Milan were in contact with Chelsea since May as they tried to push a deal to sign Loftus-Cheek. Former AC Milan technical director, Paolo Maldini, who was recently sacked, spearheaded the move to sign Loftus-Cheek.
Following Maldini’s departure, it was thought AC Milan will back off from the move to sign the England international but the Rossoneri pressed on with the move as they needed replacement for Brahim Diaz, whose loan tenure expires this summer and Sandro Tonali, who was courted by Premier League side Newcastle United.
