Sanwo-Olu declared winner in Lagos elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Babajide Sanwo-Olu as governor of Lagos State. He is from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and he was declared winner for the gubernatorial elections which was held on the 18th of march 2023 which was 2 days ago.

Governor Sanwo-Olu won 19 out of re 20 local government areas in the elections.

Professor Adenike Oladeji who is the Returning Officer of the Governorship and House of Assembly elections in Lagos State, made this announcement early this morning.

Sanwo-Olu had a total of 762,134 votes, and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (LP) who won in only one local government had the closest number of votes which was 312,329 and then PDP'S Jandor had 62,449 votes.

We learned that about 7,060,195 voters were registered for the elections but only 1,182,620 voters were accredited.
