Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, a human rights lawyer, claims that Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has abandoned government in the state to embark on a frivolous campaign trip with the APC's new presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

This was revealed by the Senior Advocate of Nigeria in a statement signed by him on Saturday.Tinubu was seen flanked by Sanwo-Olu in recent footage of courtesy visits to President Muhammadu Buhari and fellow APC candidates.

The Lagos governor has also been observed traveling numerous states with his political godfather to engage with delegates for the APC Special Convention that produced Tinubu.

Adegboruwa responded by saying it was past time for Sanwo-Olu to return to the state and do the job he was elected to do, rather than become Tinubu's unofficial campaign manager.

According to the top lawyer, the governor should return to the state to monitor the okada ban, a seasonal environmental disaster brought on by the rainy season, and to check on the activities of other authorities who may want to abandon their duties due to his absence.

Governor Babajide Sanwoolu has abandoned governance in Lagos State since Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared his presidential ambitions.

He serves as Tinubu's unofficial campaign manager, media strategist, and personal anchorman.

He serves as Tinubu's unofficial campaign manager, media strategist, and personal anchorman. The Governor has only been in office for a short time.

The Governor issued the motorcycle ban, but he is not on the ground to supervise the daily crises caused by the announcement, which, while admirable, requires rigorous implementation.

The rainy season in Lagos is often a traumatic event for Lagosians, resulting in flooding, severe traffic, and other casualties, but the Governor has been absent from the scene to address these issues. In Lagos, crime has been on the rise recently.

Without a doubt, state resources will be used in these campaign activities, and most government officials will take advantage of the Governor's absence to abdicate their duties as well.

The Governor's choice to forsake his constitutional responsibilities in order to pursue the APC presidential flag bearer's political ambitions has far more serious ramifications.

In light of the aforesaid, I hereby urge Governor Sanwoolu to return to Lagos and resume his constitutionally mandated role of functional governance. His Excellency was elected as an administrator, not as a campaign manager for politicians, Adegboruwa explained.
