Sanwo-Olu States that he will complete Lagos Red Line Before the end of his tenure.
The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured that he will complete the Lagos Red Line Before May 29 when his first tenure will end.
Just few hours ago, he announced that his administration will complete the construction of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT), which is known as the Red Line Project, before he completes his first term in office.
Recall that Governor Sanwo-Olu has been reelected into office as the governor of Lagos state in the recently conducted gubernatorial elections.
He mentioned this when he was asked questions after he had gone to inspect the project at Yaba and Ebute Meta axis in Lagos.
This area is where train stations and vehicular bridges overpass were sited. For the bridge in Ebute Meta, it has been completed about 75 to 80%. The Yaba bridge is now 95% done.
He mentioned that the Lagos state government is working alongside the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) so as to complete this project.
He mentioned that after the completion of this project, such accidents like the Ikeja train/bus accident will be avoided.
Recall that few weeks ago, a serious accident involving a train and a BRT bus carrying Lagos staff procured on the railway and claimed 6 lives and left others injured.
