SEC TO HOST INVESTOR CLINICS ACROSS MAJOR NIGERIAN CITIES DURING WORLD INVESTOR WEEK 2024
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is set to host investor clinics in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt from October 7-11, 2024, as part of World Investor Week. This initiative, announced by SEC Director General Emomotimi Agama, aims to enhance investor education and address capital market participation issues.
The clinics will be conducted at various locations: SEC's zonal offices in Lagos and Port Harcourt, the SEC's head office in Abuja, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria Conference at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja. Agama highlighted that these sessions would offer investors the chance to resolve investment-related issues and learn about the investment climate.
This year's World Investor Week theme is “Technology and Digital Finance, Crypto Assets, and Sustainable Finance,” emphasizing the significance of financial innovations. Agama encouraged both new and experienced investors to participate and engage with investment professionals to make informed decisions.
In addition, a financial literacy program for students is scheduled at Pan-Atlantic University on the fourth day, culminating in a closing bell ceremony at the Nigerian Exchange. Agama urged the public to take advantage of this initiative for better investment guidance and understanding.
