Security operatives arrest 2 suspects for stealing cables in Ogun state

Some security operatives have arrested 2 suspects for stealing cables in the state.
This incident occurred after the Journalists Estate Phase 1 at Arepo area inObafemi Owode Local Government Area experienced a sudden blackout when some people stole some cables in that area.

This happened very early on Saturday morning. These suspects had stolen some cables which led to a total blackout in that area. It was the security guards in the area who apprehended these men and arrested them. These men went to the estate around 6.30am. They vandalized and stole some electric cables in the area leading to loss of power supply.

The security were able to arrest them around 7.30am.
The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company had to pay a visit to the area so as to assess the extent of the damage done by these men.

The matter has also been transferred to the Wawa Police Division. The suspects have been taken to the police station.

The suspects had been trying to escape with the stolen cables but the OPC members, who are the security guards in the area, arrested them.

They revealed that there were actually 3 suspects but the 3rd person was able to escape on his motorcycle.
These suspects vandalized one of the transformers in the area and stole these backs

The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, SP Omolola Odutola, jas confirmed the incident. He confirmed this yesterday, Monday. He revealed that these suspects have also been charged to court and this was just yesterday, Monday.
They have also been remanded at the Oba Correctional Centre.
