Segun Adewale, also known as Aeroland, has been elected as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Lagos West Senatorial District.

Adewale was previously the party's State Chairman.

He defeated Yomi Ogungbe in the primary election held Monday night at Ikeja's Stadplus event center.

According to NAN, the Returning Officer, Daniel Ugo-Unibaiye, announced the results. Adewale received 264 votes, while Ogungbe received two. Two votes were thrown out.

The winner thanked the delegates and promised to work with everyone to win the main election in 2023.

"My first priority is to reach an agreement with my opponent, Mr. Yomi Ogungbe, so that we can be more united and work as one."

"We must resolve all internal party conflicts before proceeding to the general election," he said.

The primaries were attended by over 356 delegates from the ten local government areas. Agege, Alimosho, Amuwo-Odofin, Ajeromi, Badagry, Ikeja, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ojo, Mushin, and Oshodi/Isolo are among them.

There were no delegates from the LGAs of Ojo and Amuwo-Odofin.
