Shooting at Jehovah’s Witness hall in Germany, eight dead.
A shooting took place in northern Germany in the city of Hamburg yesterday the 9th of March. This was at the Jehovah’s Witnesses church and eight people were killed including the people suspected to be the gunman.
The police are not quite sure of the cause of this as the motive behind the attack is still unclear. They mentioned they are still working to find out the cause and motive behind the attack.
There were quite a number who were seriously injured during this attack. The suspected gunman is believed to be among the dead bodies found in the Church.
Jehovah’s Witnesses members were attending a religious service when this took place. Jehovah’s Witnesses, is a US Christian movement which was set up in the late 19th century.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses in Germany association has spoken up regarding this attack. They expressed their sadness over this terrible attack on members of the church.
Mr Peter Tschentscher who is the mayor of the city expressed his shock on twitter when he heard about the news of the attack. Many more people including Chancellor Olaf Scholz have expressed their sympathy for the victims of the attack and send prayers to the loved ones of these people.
When gunshots rang out that evening, emergency calls were quickly placed. They also put out an alarm which signified extreme danger in the area using a catastrophe warning app.
The first responders who were officers found dead bodies in the hall and other people wounded.
When the officers arrived, they heard a gunshot in the top part of the building and when they investigated the sound, they found a body when the shot was heard. They suspect this body belongs to the attacker.
It is also suspected that the gunman is a former member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Reports claim the age of this man was around 30-40 years .
