Shops and offices destroyed in Explosion at LASUTH

An explosion at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Ikeja, Lagos has destroyed some shops and offices.

This incident happened yesterday and the explosion had caused a fire. The explosion had been caused by a gas cylinder

3 container shops which are behind the department of Engineering were affected and burnt.

An office which also adjoins the department was also affected but not totally.

Thankfully, there is no record of any casualty, though some people were slightly injured during the cause of the stampede.

Adeseye Margaret who is the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service revealed that it was the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service who quenched the fire at LASUTH.

She said that the fire had begun from one of the shops which had been burnt. The fire had traveled through the ceiling of the shop and affected others before it was quenched.

She said from their investigation, they found out it was the mishandling of this 6kg gas cylinder by the shop operator which caused the fire.
