Singer, Teni reveals how her father was murdered in front of her at 2 years
Popular Nigerian singer, Teni has revealed that her father was murdered in front of her when she was just 2 years old. Teni is a well-known musician and entertainer and her full name is Teniola Apata. She is popularly known as just Teni.
She recently shared that the trauma of watching her dad, killed has affected her greatly. She revaled all these during a recent interview with Temisan Emmanuel Ahwieh, known Popularly as Taymesan and this was on the Tea With Tay podcast.
Teni's father, Simeon Apata, who was a retired Nigerian army Brigadier-General, was killed by some assassins in 1995 in Lagos state. Teni revaled that she was just two years old when this incident occurred. She shared that it happened in their living room.
She revealed that this incident robbed her of having a father figure in her life and left her with trauma. He was killed on front of the family and this incident led to her having trust issues.
In her words “Growing up with my father passing at such a young age, the trauma of losing my father at a young age affected me. You know, him being assassinated in the presence of all of us and all that stuff. I was 2 at the time. Him passing away robbed me as a child of having a father figure. It sort of made me have trust issues growing up. Because they came into our house purposely to kill him.”
