Six pregnant girls rescued from ‘baby factory’ in Rivers
Six pregnant girls have been rescued from a Baby factory in River State.
It was the Rivers State Police Command who discovered this baby factory and rescued these girls.
This baby factory was being operated by a child trafficking syndicate in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
They were able to rescue 6 women who were pregnant from there. The plan the syndicate had for these women were that as soon as they birth the babies, they would trade the babies.
They were able to arrest the person operating the syndicate, Akudo Azoroh. This man also confessed to running this illegal syndicate.
She said that she would give the babies to families that didn't have children of their own. She said they weren't ritualists.
She also revealed that these women were already pregnant when they came to her and she pays them up to N800,000 to N900,00 and this depends on their pregnancy stage and also the gender of the baby.
She confessed to have given out 6 babies in the past. She says she began the business 3 years ago.
She then clarified she doesn't have boys who impregnate these ladies. She says they were already pregnant and had come on their own accord.
She says she gives the babies out for a sum of N1.4 and N1.5 million, and this depends on the sec of the baby and then pay the mothers a part.
Some of the pregnant women had also confessed that they went along with this because they didn't have the financial capacity to take care of the babies after they have been born.
