Popular Nigerian musician Skiibii has shared his beginning stage and journey to fame. He shared how he had gone from surulere Ojuelegba to been a popular musician who owns 5 houses in lekki.
His real name is Abbey Toyyib Elias but he is known popas Skiibii. He is a Nigerian musician.
He shared his story during a rare interview with Adesope Olajide. This was on the Afrobeats Podcast.
The host asked him to share what it was like growing up, where he grew up and just things about himself.
He says he was born and brought up in surulere. This was around ojuelegba area
He went ahead to share that he studied at the University of Ado Ekiti. He studied mass communication at University.
He revealed that he couldn't finish school so he came back to surulere and got signed on credit. He also revealed that he had gotten interested in more right from second school. He says he started rapping from secondary school.
He also shared how KCee noticed him and took him on a trio to Asaba. He sat him down and asked if he had been recording etc.
He revealed how he was following his shows for years, watching, seeing. He says this was like training for him as he saw how to handle such a lifestyle.
He mentioned that he had even engaged in different things while growing up in order to survive. This was before his fame.
He revealed dthat after he became popular, he was then able to afford some other things and eventually bought a house in Lekki.
After some time, he bought 4 more houses.
Recall he was signed in 2014 to Five-Star Music and it was there he released many hits songs. He eventually left in 2017 before establishing his own record named 'more Grace Music World'.
