Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike has said that some of the recent kidnappings across the country are instigated by some shady political forces.
In a recent video, Wike stated that some politicians are bent on making sure Pres. Tinubu's government doesn't survive by creating unnecessary tension and propaganda. Wike further stated that citizens have never acknowledged the efforts of the government in developing the Federal Capital in the last five months. Instead, they nitpick the little areas they are yet to work on.
Wike said no country around the world has a zero rate of crime. He said it is impossible to stop crime in the society. Wike added that even the little measures taken to stop criminal activities are being ruined by these same citizens.
He stated, "It is difficult for people to say because kidnapping has happened in one or two places, you now say there's insecurity in the FCT. That is not correct. Talking about CCTV, if you go and put the cameras, our people will go and vandalize it. Our people that we're providing security for. Even the solar light, go and put solar light now, in the midnight, 2 am, people will go and vandalize it."
