Student in Plateau state sentenced to jail for stealing phone
A student in Plateau State has been sentenced to jail for stealing a phone. This student is an 18 year old who has been identified as Abubakar Adam.
The judgment was delivered during an Area Court sitting in Jos, Plateau State.
They sentenced the boy to 9 months imprisonment for stealing a phone.
This case had been reported on the 20th of February by a person named, Habizu Hassan.
They revealed that the boy had gone to the room of the complainant and stole his Samsung phone.
The phone was valued at N85,000. The boy had sold this same phone to someone else at N130,000.
The judge, Shawomi Bokkos, was the one who sentenced Adam after he pleaded guilt after a summary trial had been held.
Other than jail time he was also given an option of N10,000 fine.
The boy was also ordered to pay a sum of N100,000 as compensation to the complainant.
