Recall that at the beginning of the year, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) also increased its tuition fees from a sum of N25,000 to N100,000 and N120,000 respectively. This resulted in a series of protests from the students who said the fees were too much for them to afford.

It was reported that the school increased the tuition fees from N65,000 to a sum of N180,000 for returning students and N240,000 for new intakes. On Tuesday, the students staged a protest around the school premises and expressed their grievances to the management.

The school's registrar, Chief Dapo Oke, has addressed the students that the N65,000 tuition fee is no longer enough to buy laboratory equipment or pay the staff salaries.

Therefore, the increment is unavoidable but they will meet with the student union to make the necessary adjustments to relieve the burden of students and their parents.
