Styrofoam ban: Chicken Republic urges customers to come with their own plates
Chicken Republic has urged its customers to come with their own plates whenever they intend to get take-homes from the restaurant. The new policy was developed to support the ban on single-use plastics and styrofoam by the Lagos State Government.
Through a press release by Food Concept PLC, the parent company of Chicken Republic, it was announced that the styrofoam ban will immediately be implemented in Lagos for walk-in and online orders. The statement partly reads “Effective immediately, all our outlets in Lagos will commence the transition from using Styrofoam packs for both walk-in and online orders." Also, their customers are now expected to "bring their own reusable containers" whenever they want a take-out.
It further stated that the restaurant would now charge customers for their reusable containers.
