Sudan’s rival parties have agreed to a three-day ceasefire

Sudan’s rival parties have agreed to a 3 day ceasefire in the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

This ceasefire started at midnight on Tuesday, April 24, 2023.

Many countries having their citizens residing in Sudan have begun to evacuate them from the country.
Japan has evacuated their citizens and also European Union.

This development of the ceasefire was after some intense negotiation have taken place over a couple of hours.

They eventually came to an agreement to start at midnight and this is to last for 72 hours (3 days)

It was Anthony Blinken who is the U.S. Secretary of State who revelaed this on Monday.

Prior to this, attempted ceasefires didn't work out and so many people have died from this ongoing battle in Sudan. Thousands of people have been killed and hundred have been injured.

This 3 day ceasefire other than alowig countries evacuate their people, it is also to ensure that there is a chance to deliver resources like food and medical to those who need.
