Suspected cultist killed in gun battle with Police in Rivers State
A suspected cultist has been killed in Rivers State and this was during a gun battle with the police.
It was the Rivers State Police Command who revealed that this cultist was killed surfing this gun fight.
The police had engaged in a shootout with these cultists and a man who has been identified as Azunda Elechi was killed.
Grace Iringe-Koko, who is the spokesperson of the command, revealed this in a statement yesterday, Thursday.
She had read this to some newsmen in Port Harcourt.
She said that this cultist who was killed was a member of the cult group known as Dey-Gbam cult group.
This cult group had attacked a village known as Mgbola in Ndele Emohua Local Government Area. They had attacked the community on Tuesday and four people were killed.
She said they came back again on Wednesday to attack the community and then a shootout had ensued between the police and the cultists.
She said that they had recovered pump action and two live cartridges with three empty cartridge shells.
